This is the deceiver and the antichrist. Watch yourselves, that you might not lose what we have accomplished, but that you may receive a full reward. Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do not give him a greeting; for the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds. 2 John 1:9-11

Sean, you forgot – false teachers such as these men are to be considered our brothers in Christ. C’mon, where is your spirit of unity?!

What would Paul think of churches inviting Judaizers to speak at their conferences. For that matter what would John, who wrote “..do not bid them “God speed” lest you partake of their sins…”, think of “churches” full of praying heretics and their sympathizers.

Considering John’s reaction to Cerinthus, I dont think he would imagine them to be churches at all but “synagogues of Satan”.

Maybe this conference is an undercover PCA sting operation! It would be a great way to identify all the FV “brothers” who have been hiding under the radar screen all these years.

So much for the PCA study report – that really put a stop to the Federal Vision. From reading the conference announcement, it appears that their goal is to reconcile their relationship with Rome and call it “always reforming”. I believe the Bible calls this attempt “doing what is right in one’s own eyes”.

What has it been …. 7-8 years now since the 1st attempt by the AA Conference to twist the Gospel truth… by the freaks of the FV industry. I think that is when I started internet discussions and forums was back in 2001.

Hey. who came up with the nose/glasses masks… it has always been a great addition?

Oh … btw Sean, I got your book, just finished reading the section on what is saving faith. Well done Sean. When I get around to completeing a book review for the Standard Bearer, I will send you a copy as well.

  5. Sean Gerety Says:

    Thanks Ray.

The pictures were originally posted by Jeff Meyers as he and the rest of the Auburnites thought it would be funny to give the entire PCA the giant proverbial middle finger when they met in ’08. What a bunch of jokesters.

Here are more of his friends. Perhaps someone can identify some of the more notable comics?

A healthy sound biblical church does three things:
    – She teaches sound doctrine
    – She proclaims the Gospel
    – She defends the faith.

The PCA a few years ago declared that the teaching of the Federal Vision is unsound doctrine contrary to the WCF. Yet, here are PCA pastors gathering together in January for the purpose of perpetuating the very unsound doctrine that like all false teaching tries to lead Christians astray and capture them for their cause.

When the Federal Vision started taking hold of our former PCA church, a godly pastor who helped to fill the pulpit before the new FV pastor came on board was told by one of the elders not to preach the Gospel in his sermons. The reason according to his version of the Federal Vision was that all the church members and their “covenant” children were already saved and did not need to hear about salvation. This elder is still an elder in the PCA “for life”. Once again in January the PCA will have several of her teaching elders attend a conference – some who will even be guest speakers – to promote a teaching that does not see the need to proclaim the Gospel. False teaching cannot by its nature proclaim the Gospel for it is devoid of God’s mercy and grace. It has no power to save sinners.

If the PCA claims to defend the faith, why is she silent and allowing some of her pastors to attend a conference which upholds and encourages the very errors she supposedly defended against in the committee report? Believers are called to hold fast to to the one true faith and a good conscience. Yet, PCA pastors will join the CREC to gather together to do just the opposite; they will learn to lead others to “shipwreck” their faith.

What really takes the cake, is that this conference will take place in the very church and under the nose of the very pastor that the PCA sought to discipline.
How can any Christian, therefore, have any confidence that the PCA is committed to teaching sound doctrine, proclaiming the Gospel, and defending the faith? It is for this very reason that we left the PCA.
