We await your most cogent insights hereupon, O blogging buddy, Sean!

I don’t know that they’re the most insightful, as this is well worn (if not worn out) territory, but there are some interesting exchanges with Meyers and myself and others in the combox linked above.

  3. Hugh McCann Says:

Danke. I’ll stay here in still waters and glean.

Being that I’m fast becoming persona non grata @ ‘baggins, it’s far safer here @ home!

For some reason I just can’t leave this whole PCA thing alone, especially as I am currently studying the Gospel of John. I just hate it when I see a church and denomination lead people away from Christ and His Word. I honestly don’t know how any true Christian pastor or church member can continue to remain in a denomination that points people – little children – to hell. One cannot serve two masters without hating the one and loving the other.

To Wes White – this is not very diplomatic but why have you quit blogging the truth but remain in the PCA which tells you basically to be quiet and allows people like JM to preach lies? I would have to have a split personality to remain in the PCA. I don’t see how you can maintain a tender conscience toward God in a denomination that shows more charity to false teachers than to the vulnerable sheep.

Anyway, I have decided to get back into bloggin’ and get a few people mad again. It’s all Wes’ fault for leaving the blogosphere 🙂

I’ll play Wes’ advocate for a moment. He says he needs to devote more time to his flock and family. Getting enmired in the cesspool that is PCA politics hinders the calling he has as husband, father, pastor, and presbyter. Lastly is he a denominational churchman.

The lure of the lurid is strong for many of us. Some of us feel the calling to expose evil, blog about it, scream & shout about it, etc. Wes does not, apparently. I don’t think that makes him negligent or derelict in his duties. Rather, it probably is necessary for him to let go of his playing Luther to the Leos, Cajetans, & Ecks in the PCA to better carry out his first responsibilities.

As a husband, father, occasional preacher, and possibly a pastor (shepherd of a particular flock), I can understand his thinking.

As a lover of exposes and intrigue and desirous of justice, I sympathize with your sentiments, above, as well.

Plus, we don’t know what he will do at his own presbytery.

    Romans 14:4 & James 4:11f.

I so relate to his desire for peace and you do get to a point where it is useless to argue with fools. Thanks, Hugh and may we all find joy in our service to the Lord.

  7. Sean Gerety Says:

Excellent post Lauren. Good to see you bloggin’ again.

  8. Lauren Says:

Thanks, Sean. Didn’t want to leave you alone 🙂
